4-30 cm Infrared Distance Sensor

Used this to add obstacle detection to a robot chassis kit, and the 4–30 cm range is spot on for stopping before hitting walls. The sensor picks up objects reliably even in brighter rooms, which surprised me. Simple to wire up and get running with an Arduino.

The 4-30 cm range is exactly what I needed for my line-following robot, and it triggers reliably every time. Hooked it up to my Arduino shield and it was detecting objects within seconds.
